Hotel Information

I am happy to be co-sponsoring The International House of Reiki along with Deborah Harrigan, Living With Spirit, LLC, again this year in the Washington, DC area on April 8-12, 2011. The 3-day Shinpiden teacher training will be held on Friday April 8 - Sunday April 10, 2011. Frans will be teaching a 1-day Advanced Training Intensive course this year that will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011. All classes are from 9:30am-5:30pm.

Deborah and I attended the Reiki Shinpiden class in New York City, April 2007. The course changed my life, the way that I teach Reiki, as well as the way that I practice Reiki. I fell in love with Reiki when I took my first Reiki level I class back in the 90's, but have always felt that there was something missing. I knew that there had to be more. What exactly did Mikao Usui teach his students? What were his and their practices? Why did it take so long for his students to move from one level of practice to the next? I found the answers to these and many other questions during the class taught by Frans Stiene.

Frans Stiene is the co-author of The Reiki Sourcebook, The Japanese Art of Reiki, Your Reiki Treatment, and the A-Z of Reiki, co-founder of the International House of Reiki, and he is recognized as a leading global Reiki researcher.

This intensive Shinpiden Reiki Teacher course focuses on Reiki as a spiritual practice from a Japanese perspective.
This three-day course includes the traditional Shinpiden course.

  • Study and practice the underlying Japanese esoteric principles of the precepts, symbols, mantras and reiju (attunement).
  • Learn a unique method of working with the jumon (mantras) of the system.
  • Gain a clearer understanding of what Reiki is and where it comes from.
  • Learn about traditional Japanese practices such as the three diamonds of the Japanese energetic system.
  • Find the thread that connects each of the elements of Reiki, creating a solid foundation for your Reiki practice.
  • Discover that the system of Reiki can be practiced as a serious spiritual journey.

These particular teachings are not widely taught in the Reiki community and therefore are a must for any serious Reiki practitioner or teacher. This course is suitable for Level II Practitioners desiring to become Reiki Master/Teachers or established Reiki Master/Teachers desiring to upgrade their knowledge.

The 3-day Shinpiden Reiki Teacher Course

This is not just another Reiki course!

Shinpiden means ‘mystery teachings’ and this is where Frans Stiene will guide you over three days, deep into the truths at the heart of these Japanese teachings. Based on factual historical research these teachings will give you the confidence to be the Reiki practitioner you always wanted to be.

What do you gain by studying with the International House of Reiki?2009 Shinpiden class

  • Feel a connection of truth within your personal practice.
  • Strengthen your energy to support your spiritual, healing and\or teaching  practice.
  • Become 100% confident in your practice.

Events in the DC area

National Cherry Blossom Festival

You will be in the Washington, DC area during one of the most beautiful times of year, cherry blossom time.

During the life time of Mikao Usui, Japan sent 3,020 cherry trees to the United States as a gift of friendship. First Lady Taft and the wife of the then Japanese ambassador planted the first two cherry trees on the northern bank of the Tidal Basin. Those two original trees are still standing.

The lighting ceremony of the 357 year old stone lantern begins the 2 week celebration filled with activities for everyone.
